A MicroPeel is a light chemical peel that only affects the very outer layer of skin for gentle rejuvenation. The solution is stronger than regular skin care products but less abrasive than other in-office treatments. Treatment with a MicroPeel results in improved skin with a smooth texture, reduced pore size, and more even tone. Those with mild to moderate skin concerns can receive a MicroPeel to improve the look and feel of their skin.
The MicroPeel Process
The MicroPeel is a simple process that removes the outermost layer of the skin. This outermost layer is composed of dead skin cells, clogged pores, and superficial pigmentation that can prevent you from achieving smooth, even skin. A MicroPeel begins by gently cleansing the skin to remove the surface oils and dead skin layer. A mild solution of alpha-hydroxy acid is then applied to help remove the dead skin cells and cellular debris. The procedure is safe, generally comfortable, and only takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Unlike a facial, most people will notice a change in the skin right away. You can apply your makeup immediately following the procedure. Side effects are very minimal with some patients reporting mild redness and sensitivity. Fine lines and brown spots will be diminished and a change in skin texture can be felt right away. Your skin will have a smoother and uniform appearance. Results from a MicroPeel can last several weeks. Because the process is so gentle, many patients choose to have follow-up peels to optimize and maintain their results.
