Loose skin and brows can cause upper-eye hooding which can impair your line of sight. During an eyelid lift, excess skin and fat are removed to help create a more youthful appearance and a clear line of sight.

Puffiness

When the upper or lower eyelids become puffy, it can make you look tired or aged. Eyelid surgery can correct this puffiness for a rejuvenated appearance.

What to expect with Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. During upper eyelid surgery, an incision will be made hidden within the natural folds of the eyelids. During a lower eyelid surgery, the incisions is hidden just below the lower lashes. Your surgeon will then remove tissue through these incisions and fat may be redistributed to eliminate puffiness or bulges.

Following your surgery, ice packs can be placed on your eyelids to reduce swelling. You may experience tearing, light sensitivity, and double vision right after surgery, though these symptoms will reduce with time. Swelling and bruising can occur for a week or more. Discomfort is usually minimal, and most patients take Tylenol.
